My Arrival Part Two
So I'm at Itami airport and I'm all alone. My first decision is to stay in a visible spot and wait for my friend to find me. Little do I know that he has been ushered into an interrogation room so that he can explain why he has porno magazines and headache medicine with codeine. What I also didn't know was that Itami airport closes. I spent about an hour waiting and thinking that my friend was looking for me and while I was waiting the number of people passing through the arrival lounge was fewer and fewer. When the lights of the information counter were turned off I figured it was time I found my own way. I didn't know how to use the trains and I didn't know the station I was going to. The only thing I did have was the phone number and the address of the dormitory style apartment I was going to be living in. I found a taxi stand and showed him the address. He of course couldn't understand me and I couldn't understand him but I learned that the address wouldn't get me where I was going. The driver needed more information. This of course confused me even more. The driver helped me figure out how to call the dormitory and thankfully someone answered the phone. The guy that answered explained to me in a heavy Aussie accent that I should take the monorail to Senri-Chuo, change to the Midosuji line then change at Daikokucho to the Yotsubashi line heading towards Suminoekoen and look for Kishinosato. What I heard was Blah blah blah blah blah Daikokucho blah blah blah. I told the drive "Daikokuchoo!" and he threw my bags into the trunk and we were off.
